Emanuel L. Young Post 838 is located on Fort Worth's near southside. The post is a few blocks east of the historic intersection of East Rosedale and Evans Ave., a once bustling area of commerce and entertainment in this African-American community. There's easy access to the post from three interstate highways and one Texas highway. The highways are I-30 to the north, I-20 to the south, I-35 to the west, and Highway 287 to the east. The post was built in the early nineties and has a large ballroom and lounge, a kitchen, and two administration offices to serve it's members and the community. Post 838 is admired and respected throughout the Metroplex by churches, charity/social clubs, and private parties that patronize it. With good leadership and dedicated members, Post 838 will continue to be a beacon in the community and the American Legion.
